Meta has introduced a new series of AI-powered wearables, highlighting its commitment to addressing privacy issues associated with smart technology. Among the latest offerings is a pair of camera-free smart glasses, designed to alleviate concerns about the recording capabilities of wearable devices. These audio-only glasses will be available starting October 13, with a price tag of $349.
Unlike some of Meta’s previous smart glasses, which included cameras for capturing photos and videos, this new model focuses solely on audio functionality. Meta maintains that privacy remains a key consideration in its wearable technology lineup, ensuring features such as visible recording indicators are part of its camera-equipped devices.
In addition to the camera-free glasses, Meta announced new versions of its smart glasses that include display capabilities. These display models are priced starting at $799 and are expected to reach additional international markets soon. The company is also expanding its product line with lighter mixed-reality glasses that utilize an external battery and memory pack, set to launch in spring 2027 with a starting price of $1,299.
Meta’s latest developments also include Muse, an AI-powered personal assistant engineered to handle tasks like booking appointments, making calls, and connecting users to various services. With these innovations, Meta positions its AI glasses and Muse as integral components of its broader strategy to enhance consumer AI experiences.
