Ireland Revamp Lineup with Six Changes for Japan Rugby Rematch in Cork

Ireland has revamped its lineup with six changes for the upcoming rugby match against Japan, set to take place in Cork this Saturday. This follows Ireland’s recent 31-24 triumph over Japan in Galway. Among the changes, Jane Clohessy and Niamh Gallagher are set to make their first starts for the national team. Additionally, Sophie Barrett, Kate Jordan, and Alana McInerney are poised to debut from the bench.

Linda Djougang is making a return at loosehead prop, teaming up with Neve Jones and Eilís Cahill. In the second row, Clohessy is paired with Fiona Tuite-O’Sullivan, while Emily Lane resumes her role at scrum-half alongside Dannah O’Brien.

The midfield sees Aoife Dalton returning to the center position alongside Anna McGann. Robyn O’Connor is starting on the left wing, and Gallagher is taking on the full-back role, with Beibhinn Parsons remaining on the right wing. The back row stays consistent with captain Erin King, Brittany Hogan, and Jemima Adams Verling retaining their positions.
