Next year’s Ryder Cup at Adare Manor in County Limerick will see ticket prices soar, with European organizers setting the cost for daily entry at €499 (£434). This marks a significant increase from the €260 ticket price at the last European-hosted Ryder Cup in Rome three years ago. The new pricing will first be available to those residing in Ireland, where the centenary event is scheduled to take place, starting this Friday.

For fans looking for more budget-friendly options, practice days are priced at €89 for adults and €20 for children on Tuesday and Wednesday. On Thursday, which includes the opening ceremony, the cost will rise to €179 for adults and €30 for children. Despite these record-high prices for a Ryder Cup held in Europe, it’s worth noting that spectators paid $750 (£555) to attend when the US hosted the event at Bethpage in New York last year, where Europe emerged victorious.

Richard Atkinson, the chief officer for the Ryder Cup, addressed the price hike, stating, “We acknowledge it’s an increase from Rome. That was four years ago and a lot has happened in the world since then. We are lower than Bethpage. We’ve tried to make this as accessible as possible to a wide demographic of people. Our practice day tickets will be from €89 and juniors from €20.” He emphasized that the pricing reflects the event’s global significance and stature, asserting confidence in the ticket costs while maintaining accessibility for a diverse audience.

In a bid to counterbalance the higher ticket costs, organizers are promising an “enhanced experience” for fans attending the 2027 Ryder Cup. This will be the first time the event returns to Ireland since 2006, when Europe claimed victory at Straffan, County Kildare. Plans include a record 20,000 grandstand seats and an increased number of giant screens to improve the onsite experience for attendees.
