Anthropic, creator of the Claude chatbot, has raised $30 billion in new funding, more than doubling its valuation from $183 billion to $380 billion. The substantial capital injection reflects continued investor enthusiasm for companies at the forefront of AI development.

The funding round was led by two prominent investors: GIC, Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund, and Coatue Management. The transaction stands as one of the largest private capital raises ever completed, demonstrating the massive financial stakes in the AI sector.

Anthropic’s revenue performance justifies the elevated valuation, with the company reporting $14 billion in annualized revenue. The firm has achieved tenfold revenue growth annually for three straight years, demonstrating exceptional market demand.

Claude Code, an AI coding assistant that became widely available in May 2025, has been particularly influential in driving recent growth. The product has resonated with enterprise customers seeking productivity enhancements in software development.

Despite significant spending on infrastructure and talent, Anthropic forecasts improving financial efficiency. The company projects cash burn will decline to approximately one-third of revenue in 2026 and just 9% by 2027, with break-even targeted for 2028.
